Rural America Leads New Energy Development
Grassroots efforts of rural America are forming thousands of small groups (some larger than small) who are standing up with intitiatives for "growing" our way out of future oil crisis. Ethanol is moving unabated, with many thinking the "faultline" to propell growth is oil above $60 a barrel, so far not difficult to surpass. Commodity prices may be the lynchpin that connects biofuel plant expansion. As new oil refinery capacity is challenged, rural areas seem to be much quicker to approve ethanol and biodiesel plants, which pose far less environmental hazzard, since most of the process is already widespread in agri-business processing circles, and does not involve "cooking" and cracking components of crude oils into various mineral fuels.
